“It is dull, Son of Adam, to drink without eating," said the Queen. "What would you like best to eat?"
"Turkish Delight, please, your Majesty," said Edmund. ~ The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe
Madder root gives this bar a pink color, similar to the pink you'd find in traditional rose flavored turkish delight. And the white swirl represents the powderd sugar the candy is covered in. Scented with geranium essential oil to mimic the smell and taste of the traditional rose candy.
The Narnia books have been a favorite of mine since childhood. In my twenties, I learned how to make Turkish delight. I didn't care much for the traditional rose flavor and tried orange instead. This was more palatable, but I can understand why the candy had to be enchanted in order for Edmund to eat so much and then be willing to betray his siblings in order to get more, because it's really just a soft gummy candy.
